Equilibrium lost, equilibrium gained

Wow, what a week! I've finally recovered from a whirlwind week that left me spent and wanting for energy. And for coherent thoughts. First, I attended another HS reunion last week. It took me aback that so many of our number have found their way to the happy hunting grounds. Even worse, it seems that I'm the only teenager left among the living. LOL
Seriously, it was fun to see familiar faces, though it took searching through the wrinkles to find them. All in all, my old gang is still the same bunch, just more mature now. Other than me, he he.
Then came the baseball playoffs and, unbelievably, my Cardinals were in the mix. For a team that everyone had written off in August, it was a mighty achievement just to be there for a few games before they were eliminated. But wait; who is the 2011 World Champion baseball team? None other than my St. Louis Cardinals! Wow, what a week!
Oh, I already said that, didn't I? The capper to the week was when my Nebraska Cornhuskers totally dominated the Michigan State team that was supposed to give them a whooping.
Now that was the week that was, or as they once said, TW3.
So, you ask, what has this to do with writing? Just this. Remember that you are never too old to do something right if you keep trying. You are never too inadequate to come out on top if you refuse to quit. And, you can best any obstacle if you believe in yourself. Three important messages, rolled up into one.
Takes those concepts to your writing and put them to work. Do it right, never say 'uncle', and believe in what you are doing, and you can't help succeeding. That's my advice and my hope for each and every one of you.
Now I've got to get back to my NaNo WIP. 7468 words so far, and more to come before this day is done. Happy writing and reading, all!

Hope your NaNoing goes well!

I wrote my first story at age 5, and didn't get my first fiction published until age 38, so it's definitely worth remembering that you're never too old to try. (Not that 38 is old, but you know what I mean. I hope...)
